AHL 3 vs Naomh Barróg

Result: 2 15 to 0 13

Senior B Hurlers notch up second win

The Senior B Hurlers played Naomh Barróg on Sunday Morning. Fortunately the All-weather pitch was available, as otherwise the game would not have been played.

Boden found it very hard to settle into this game. In the first half scores and points in particular were very scarce with only two from play (A. Jermin & J. Roche) & a third by Roche from a free. On the other hand Naomh Barrog were popping over points much more easily and finished the half with a total of eleven points. However they say that goals win matches and in this case two good goals kept Boden well in the game. The first goal came after a great run and finish by wing back Kenny Wigglesworth. The second was also a well taken goal by Finnian McDonagh. This left the score at 0 11 to 2 03 in favour of Barróg.

The Boden team certainly benefited from the half-time pep-talk and a number of substitutions. The fact that the breeze, now favouring Boden picked up also helped matters. Boden now playing with far more determination, went on to dominate the second half, scoring twelve points, while Naomh Barróg only scored two points.

The game ended on a score of 2 15 to 0 13 in favour of Ballyboden. The game marked the very welcome return of Malachy Travers from his travels and he appears to have lost none of his gentleman like approach to the game!!

The Team was; Keith Robinson, Niall Keegan, Donal Butler, Malachy Travers, Kenny Wigglesworth, Stephen Nagle, Mick McGarry, Naoise Maguire, Adam Jermyn, John O'Driscoll, Finnian McDonagh, Dermot Coffey, Eoin McKenna. Subs Used - Paul Doherty Collie O'Neill, Eoin Small, David O'Connor and Darragh O'Gorman.
