Ballyboden St Endas U11s were victorious on Saturday in their Camaint Final last weekend.
On a sunny Saturday morning in Parnell Park the boys overcame the challenge of Faughs and Fingallians to win the trophy.

The semi final pitched the boys against local rivals Faughs and it turned out to be a close fought affair. While Boden dominated territory and possession for the first half, scores were hard to come by and at half time Boden had a slender 2 point advantage for their efforts. It turned out to a dangerous margin as within minutes of the restart Faughs goaled to take the lead for the first time in the contest. But the Boden boys stuck to their task and scored their first goal from Daragh Byrne to restore their 2 point advantage. Faughs came back again to level the score with only 5 minutes remaining when they scored their second goal. However Ballyboden were not to be denied and a goal and a fine point from his left side from Niall O’Reilly saw Ballyboden win the semi final contest on a scoreline of 2-4 to 2 goals.
Action from the final against Fingallians
The final saw Ballyboden up against Fingallians. The Northside team started the stronger and Ballyboden had to soak up a lot of pressure in the early stages of the first half. But as the half went on the boys grew in strength and took a 2-1 to 0-0 lead in at half time with goals from Niall O’Reilly and Robert Byrne. In the second half Boden continued to dominate and while Fingallians scored a goal with minutes remaining Boden went back at them and rounded off the scoring with a goal from Aaron Coffey. Final score line saw Ballyboden winning by 3-4 to 1-1.
The boys thoroughly the experience of playing in Parnell Park and it was also great for them to have the vocal support of so many parents, brothers and sisters who turned up to cheer them on. All of the players excelled on the day and each one of them can be very proud of their efforts.
