The U12 Camogie team travelled to the scenic Glens of Antrim recently and enjoyed an action packed weekend. A 46 strong party, including 30 players and 16 parents/mentors set off for Ballycastle early on Saturday morning. Having checked into their hotel at lunchtime, the party proceeded to Ballycastle's GAA and Camogie Club where they had a very competitive game with the local team.
This was a game of more than two halves. With Boden ahead at the end of the second half, it was agreed to make it a novel game of "three thirds" with Ballycastle eventually emerging victorious by a goal. Our girls were then treated to great hospitality by Ballycastle in their fabulous new Clubhouse.
The Girls returned to their hotel for a swim and a meal followed by a long night's entertainment. On Sunday morning, the group headed off in brilliant sunshine to cross the famous Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge and tour the Giant's Causeway. It was a tired but happy group returned to Dublin that evening.
Well done to all the girls who were great ambassadors for their Club and families. Particular thanks to mentors Karen Featherstone, Deirdre O'Dwyer and Marie Moffatt for their efforts in organising a super weekend.
