Camogie Sevens
From left: Sarah Dowling, Mary Hyland, Joanne Cummins, Gemma Browne, Darrelle Dolan, Siobhan O"Dwyer (captain), Maeve Gaynor, Irene Kirwan, Eimear Ring and Fiona Ní Shúilleabháin.
Siobhan O"Dwyer had the distinction of captaining her side to victory over her native Cashel in the Butlerstown Sevens on Sunday.
In a thrilling game with the Tipperary team, the Boden went in just a point in front at half time 1 - 2 to 1 - 1 with Eimear Ring getting the goal.
But in the second half the side played with great heart and goals from Darrelle Dolan and Gemma Browne and an excellent point from Fiona Ní Shúilleabháin put the side in a commanding position.
Irene Kirwan was superb in goals and Sarah Dowling, Maeve Gaynor, Joanne Cummins, and Mary Hyland (on her senior A debut) were all magnificent.
Unfortunately the early morning start had not helped matters when the side opened against Bishopstown who won by 2 -3 to 0 - 1.
In a three team group only one advanced to the semi finals of a superbly run event.
Scorers: Gemma Browne (1.2), Eimear Ring and Darrelle Dolan (1.1 each), Fiona Ní Shúilleabháin and Irene Kirwan (0.1 each).
