Leinster Cumann na mBunscol football tournament.
A feast of football was held on Thursday last when ten Leinster teams participated in a non competitive blitz in Sancta Maria. Dublin was represented by St. Colmcilles, Knocklyon. The weather was fantastic and the standard of football was amazing.
All the visiting teams and their mentors spoke very highly of the extraordinarily modern facilities that we have in the Sancta Maria complex. The tournament was the brainchild of Mr. Patten, who put a lot of work into the project, ably assisted by Hugh Ruddy, Mr. Hughes and Mr.Ruddy.
Many thanks to Edward O Riordáin, Gerry O'Meara, Fintan Walsh and Tom Fitzpatrick of Cumann na mBunscol for their support. Also, many thanks must go the very generous parents who provided food and refreshments throughout the day.
The referees on the day were Coláiste Eanna students, Conor Robinson, Conor O'Riordan, Jamie Desmond and Thomas McGrath. The photographer was Mrs. Coffey.
