Lotto Appeal Message from Chairman
[ Thu, 24th Jun 2010 ]
The first draw in LOTTO 2010 will be held on Monday night next 28 June. This leaves just a couple of days to reach our target of 1000 tickets.
The LOTTO is our main fundraiser. Its success is essential to pay for the increasing costs of running the Club – maintenance and upkeep of the pitches in Sancta Maria, team running costs, player welfare and important investment in coaching. This years LOTTO will be used to fund laying of astro turf in Sancta Maria prunty pitch goalmouth areas (€20,000), footballs/sliothars and coaching equipment(€10,000), replacement of coaching grant withdrawn by Co. Board (€10,000), upgrading of security at Sancta Maria allweather pitch (€5000), player injury related costs (€5000).
If we do not reach our LOTTO target we will have to cut back on important areas of expenditure.
Only 245 full members have joined the LOTTO to date.Total sales to date is at our breakeven point of 600 tickets . I have no doubt but that the vast majority of the remaining members will also join if they are aware of the importance of the LOTTO for the Club’s finances. We also need to approach parents of juveniles for LOTTO sales.
The Club Executive is acutely conscious that due to econmic circumstances some members who have supported the LOTTO over the years will not be able to do so this year.Consequently, I would ask those who are in a position to do so to rally to the support of the LOTTO this year. If you cannot purchase a full ticket, consider putting a number of people together to buy a ticket.
Brochures and entry forms are available in the Club or can be downloaded here - Club Lotto Brochure.
