No Pay - No Play says County Board

[ Wed, 10th Mar 2004 ]

A significant number of clubs have been given an ultimatum to pay their Players Injury Premium or else their matches scheduled for this week-end 13/14 March will be cancelled.

Clubs have been given until 5.30 pm tomorrow (Thursday 11 March) to comply.  Ballyboden St. Endas has paid its premiums.

The County Board states - "we have been been advised by the GAA Insurance Group not to schedule any games in the county involving clubs who have not paid their Players Injury Premiums. This is for legal reasons as an injured player could pursue both the club for playing a game without any cover in place and the county committee for scheduling games for clubs who had not paid the mandatory insurance."

Club Secretary, Paddy Walsh will be able to advise as to which clubs are referred to.
