Players Voluntary Insurance Scheme Dropped

As reported in last Friday"s (9 February) Irish Independent, the Players Voluntary Insurance Scheme has been discontinued due to lack of support from players.
However Central Council is finalising a revised Team Accident Scheme which will include increased benefits but with a higher premium. Clubs are currently covered under the existing schemes until 1st February 2004.
A doubling of the premium of €295 per team is anticipated.
