Race Night for India - Friday 16 Jan 2004
Four young members of the club will set off in early February for a two weeks stay in Calcutta as part of the Coláiste Éanna Immersion Fund to help the poor and the sick in that part of the world.
The four are Jason Long (minor hurler and footballer) and minor footballers Eoin Murphy, Conor Brennan and Kevin O"Dwyer.
The group is part of a team of six from the School who are making this trip and on Friday 16 January at 8 pm a Race Night is being held in the club as part of the fund-raising effort.
The group hopes to raise €30,000 so that they can give direct financial aid to projects in Calcutta such as Slum Schools in which they will be teaching. The 5th Year Students will also help out in Mother Teresa"s Hospice for the Dying as well as teaching English.
The lads have already held a very well supported Table Quiz last year in the club.
