U16 hurlers into County Final
Report and Photograph: Joe Roche
Ballyboden U16 hurlers had a fine win today in their Championship semi-final against Kilmacud Crokes. In perfect conditions and in front of strong local support, the team took advantage of the slight breeze and picked off some nice points particularly in the run up to half time and led at the short whistle by 10 points to 3.
The expected Crokes response was immediate and they moved to within 4 points after ten minutes. A Boden goal put more daylight between the teams and a strong finish saw the home team run out winners on a scoreline of 2-14 to 0-11. Second half goals scored by Adam Jermyn and Lorcan Mullany.
The U16s now look forward to a final against either Lucan Sarsfields in two weeks time. Well done to all concerned.
