Ballyboden St. Endas    2 - 3 ;  Croí Ró Naofa   0 - 5 .

Ballyboden`s under 10 girls finished up deserving winners despite a fantastic finish from Croí Ró Naofa at Westmanstown last Saturday (15 Nov 2003).

Following on two draws in the league this championship final was all set up for a classic and the large crowd who turned up were not disappointed. The Boden girls started off with intent and bombarded the Croí Ró goal. The Croí Ró defence held firm and all Boden had to show for relentless pressure was a great individual goal from midfielder Elaine Mc Grath and a point from wing forward captain Sarah O"Brien.

Croí Ró responded with two typically well  taken points from the superb Allison Phillips and Jessica Wall.

The second half saw Boden play with great confidence and determination. Aisling O Neill, Ciara Ruddy, Niamh Doyle, Jenny Ward, Cathy O Neill and Michelle O Reilly began to domonate their respective positions.

Sarah O"Brien  from Boden continued to show her marvellous football ability and posted two more lovely points. Then Ashling  O"Neill cleared a long ball which fell into Sarah`s path , Sarah ran on through an open defence and buried the ball in the Croí Ró net.

This settled the Boden girls who played now with confidence helped in a large way by the safe hands of keeper Alice Gillen . Croí Ró helped by the excellent Allison Mc Phillips scored three points in a row  which set up the match for a grand stand finish. Ballyboden held on until the sweet sounding final whistle to record a famous victory.
