Under 15 hurlers through to County Final

The U15 hurlers had a great win in a hard-fought match against near neighbours St Judes on Sunday afternoon in the championship semi-final. From the throw-in, it was clear this would be a tight match and Boden nosed in front mid-way through the first half with a goal from Donal Butler. With Ben McEntee, Andrew Hughes and Kenny Wigglesworth marshalling the Judes' forwards well and limiting their scoring chances, Boden went to half-time and some welcome shade with a five point lead.

Judes' expected fightback came early in the second half and a goal and point brought Boden's lead down to the smallest margin. Conor McKeon and Tom Hanafin steadied the ship and gradually Boden regained control spurred on by a great save from netminder Keith Robinson at a crucial point in the game. A couple of long-range frees from McKeon, allied to the strong running of David Neylon, good catches by Jonathon O'Driscoll and a brace of late points from James Roche closed the match out for Boden on a scoreline of 1-8 to 1-4.

Well done to the team and manager Ray McKenna and mentors Eugene McGee and John Keegan. The team look forward to facing Cuala in the county final in a couple of weeks. Thanks also to the great support on Sunday, particularly from our fellow players on the U14 and U16 teams.

The win completed a fine double this weekend as the U16s won their quarter final against great rivals Castleknock in Sancta Maria on Saturday. A marvellous defensive display was the platform for this win. Congratulations and well done all round.
