Under 16C Shield Final
Ballyboden St. Endas B V Clann Mhuire
The under 16C Shield Final was played on a wind swept Prunty Pitch in Sancta Maria on Saturday, October 3rd.
Ballyboden played against the wind in the first half. Both teams found the windy conditions tough.
Clann Mhuire opened the score with two well taken points from frees from their excellent No. 14, Christopher Hogan. Boden then went on the attack and went ahead with goals scored by Jack O’Dwyer and Eoghan Culligan. Clann Mhuire struck back with two goals of their own, one from a free and the other just tipped in by their No. 11, Seamus Rooney.
The teams finished level at half time 2gls 3 pts each. It was anyone’s match!
Ballyboden came back in the second half with a number of changes to their forward line. With the wind behind them, the new line up completely changed the game and allowed Boden to pick up 2-12 in the second half. Boden seemed to be on fire in this period. It was score after score. The final result was Ballyboden 4gls 14pts to Clann Mhuire 2gls 4pts.
Congratulations to all 20 lads, who played on the day, and well done on an excellent performance.
