Boden's Under 16A footballers lined out on Saturday afternoon in a sun-drenched Ballycullen in their Championship quarter final against Cuala.

Having met some weeks ago in the League, both sides knew each other well and the opening exchanges were close with the minimum between the sides after 20 minutes. In the second quarter, Boden began to win the midfield aided by good work from Dara Kilduff and Stuart Warren to lead at half time by 1-8 to 0-3.

Cuala, as expected pressed hard after the break and tried to take advantage of the slight breeze, but a series of wides meant Boden maintained their lead.

When Neil Jordan converted a penalty, it put further daylight between the teams. With Niall Keegan to the fore in defence and Sam Moloney dominating midfield, Boden pressed on and won on a scoreline of 2-14 to 1-6.
